Delete Your Movara Account
Effective
This page explains how to ask us to delete your Movara account and the data attached to it. It applies to the Movara app on Android and iOS, published by Movara, and to the Movara website at movara.world.
To request deletion, email movara.support@gmail.com from the address you signed in with. The steps are below.
How to request deletion
- Email movara.support@gmail.com from the Google address you use to sign in to Movara. Sending from that address is what proves the account is yours.
- Put "Delete my account" in the subject line.
- In the message, confirm you want the account and its data deleted. You do not need to give a reason.
- We reply to confirm we have received the request, and again once the deletion is done.
If you can no longer send mail from that address, write to us from any address and tell us the display name on the account and roughly when you created it. We will ask for whatever else we need to be sure the account is yours before deleting anything.
What happens next
We acknowledge every request within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity. Deletion is permanent: there is no undo, no grace period, and no way for us to restore the account or its reading history afterwards.
If you change your mind, tell us before the deletion runs and we will cancel the request. Once it has run, signing in with the same Google account creates a brand new, empty Movara account.
What we delete
- Your profile
- Email address, display name, and profile picture, including any picture you uploaded from your photo library.
- Your reading data
- Which series you opened, how far you read, the choices you made in a story, and anything marked watched.
- Your subscription identity
- The link between your Movara account and your RevenueCat customer record.
What we keep, and for how long
A deletion request does not override the law. Three things outlive the account, and none of them is used to build a profile of you or to contact you.
- Purchase and transaction records
- Kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years. These are financial records of a sale, not reading data, and we cannot delete them on request.
- Crash and diagnostic logs
- Kept up to 90 days from the day they were recorded, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify you. They are not deleted early because they are stored by timestamp, not by account.
- A record of the request itself
- The fact that an account was deleted, and when. Kept for three years so we can show a regulator we honoured the request. It holds no profile or reading data.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your Movara account does NOT cancel a Movara subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us, and only the store can stop the billing. Cancel there first, then ask us to delete the account — otherwise the store keeps charging for a subscription no account can use.
- Android: Google Play app → your profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Movara → Cancel.
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Movara → Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling leaves you subscribed until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund the remainder; the store handles refunds under its own policy.
Deleting some data without closing the account
You do not have to close the account to remove some of what we hold. You can change or clear your display name and profile picture in Account Details in the app, and turn off analytics and push notifications in your device settings.
If you want a subset of your data deleted or exported rather than the whole account, email movara.support@gmail.com and say which. Depending on where you live you may have that right under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA — see the Privacy Policy for the full list.
